Aj.Rojana Watthanasilp and Aj.Raksiri Kaewthawi from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and Design at Walailak University, have been awarded the prestigious Fellow (FHEA) status under the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).

The UKPSF is an internationally recognized framework for teaching and learning, widely adopted across the globe. It was developed by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), now known as Advance HE, a national independent body in the United Kingdom. This framework is utilized by Walailak University to enhance the quality of teaching and to foster the development of professional, highly skilled educators who deliver high-quality, internationally-standardized education.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in advancing the professionalism and teaching standards at Walailak University, ensuring the university’s commitment to excellence in education.

Congratulations to Associate Professor Raksiri Kaewthawi on Achieving UKPSF Fellow (FHEA) Accreditation 

Associate Professor Raksiri Kaewthawi, a faculty member in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and Design at Walailak University, has been awarded the prestigious Fellow (FHEA) status under the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).

The UKPSF is an internationally recognized framework for teaching and learning, widely adopted across the globe. School of Architecture and Design at Walailak University participated in the 8th International Conference on Built Environment in Developing Countries, held from September 3–5, 2024, in Penang, Malaysia. The conference focused on the theme “Integrating Technology and Human Values for A Sustainable Tomorrow.”

Associate Professor Raksiri Kaewthawi and Assistant Professor Thanawat Nakasarn represented Walailak University, presenting their research and collaborating with scholars and researchers from various countries.

Research Presented:

  1. “Pak Khlong Talat: The Settlement and Expansion Pattern of Stores, The Case of Flower Market Neighbourhood, Bangkok, Thailand” by Associate Professor Raksiri Kaewthawi (FA), Associate Professor Wiruj Thinnakorn (CA), and Prof. Dr. A. Ghafar Ahmad from the School of Housing, Building, and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

  2. “Impact of a Linear City Spatial Transformation on Old Town: The Case of Tha Wang Old Town, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Southern Thailand” by Assistant Professor Thanawat Nakasarn (FA) and Assistant Professor Ravin Thinnakorn (CA).

Both research papers were accepted for publication in the Planning Malaysia journal (Scopus Q2).

This marks an important step in furthering academic collaboration and sharing knowledge within the global academic community.

Photo Highlights from the AD Open House 2024 Exhibition under the theme “ACE OF ARCH.” The School of Architecture and Design, Walailak University, invites everyone with an interest to join the AD Open House 2024 under the theme “ACE OF ARCH.”

The event, organized by the School of Architecture and Design at Walailak University, will feature a wide range of activities, including:

  • Student design exhibitions
  • Exhibitions of creative works and research by faculty members
  • Exhibitions and talks by alumni from the School of Architecture and Design
  • Special Lecture presentations showcasing creative works, academic services, and faculty expertise
  • Information sessions on architectural and design materials from various companies
  • Workshops and recreational activities led by senior students
  • Competitions in artistic skills, creative works, and photography
  • Visual arts skill tutorials and many more activities organized by students and the School of Architecture and Design’s student club

Those interested can visit the AD Open House exhibition from Monday, August 19, 2024, to Sunday, August 25, 2024. The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM at the Architecture and Design Exhibition Room and the central halls on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Architecture and Design Building at Walailak University. Come join us, exchange ideas, and participate in the activities!
