ADWU Presents Research at the 8th International Conference on Built Environment in Developing Countries

School of Architecture and Design at Walailak University participated in the 8th International Conference on Built Environment in Developing Countries, held from September 3–5, 2024, in Penang, Malaysia. The conference focused on the theme “Integrating Technology and Human Values for A Sustainable Tomorrow.”

Associate Professor Raksiri Kaewthawi and Assistant Professor Thanawat Nakasarn represented Walailak University, presenting their research and collaborating with scholars and researchers from various countries.

Research Presented:

  1. “Pak Khlong Talat: The Settlement and Expansion Pattern of Stores, The Case of Flower Market Neighbourhood, Bangkok, Thailand” by Associate Professor Raksiri Kaewthawi (FA), Associate Professor Wiruj Thinnakorn (CA), and Prof. Dr. A. Ghafar Ahmad from the School of Housing, Building, and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

  2. “Impact of a Linear City Spatial Transformation on Old Town: The Case of Tha Wang Old Town, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Southern Thailand” by Assistant Professor Thanawat Nakasarn (FA) and Assistant Professor Ravin Thinnakorn (CA).

Both research papers were accepted for publication in the Planning Malaysia journal (Scopus Q2).

This marks an important step in furthering academic collaboration and sharing knowledge within the global academic community.
